Burr is wrong, as usual.
by Swamp Pundit“What the ruling concluded is that corporations and labor unions have a constitutional right, from the free-speech clause, to contribute and participate in the election process,” he commented. “I will say that in no way, shape, or form, contradictory to what the president said last night, provides an avenue for foreign participation financially in campaigns.”
–Richard Burr from Washington Daily News article.
Wrong wrong wrong. All those who scream “arrgggh, socialism will kill us. No healthcare because we’ll become proletariat robots!!” heed the Bush-legacy Supreme Court decision.
How is Burr’s statement incorrect?
Corporations licensed under a US state are now individuals allowed free speech guaranteed by the Constitution. A corporation… hmmmmm… Who controls Citgo? Why, that little scamp, Hugo Chavez. So now Venezuela, that nice little communist enclave, can buy a US election… if we took all that to its logical conclusion.
Why aren’t the Republicans screaming about the US becoming a communist totalitarian regime? We’re all going to be wearing gray linen pantsuits and marching to the words of Ming Chow Mein. All because Your Supreme Court sees fit to let foreign corporations control our election cycle.
Conspiracy theories need to really rev up their engines now…
