When guests drive down from the big office up in the state capital, we dine with friends down on the curbside at King Chicken. Every small town has at least one real restaurant, a local tradition… a central meeting place for politico and regular folk alike. Ruritan and those rurally tanned.
Seriously, no life is complete without a visit to King King Chicken, Washington NCChicken Restaurant.

Cheese biscuits.

Where a cheeseburger means meat, mustard, onions, chili, cheese, something-I’m-not-sure-what, and more. For cheap, under $2.00. Wash it down with copious amounts of iced tea, all year long. Remember, sweet tea is not seasonal in the South. It is the South.
And hush puppies. Our personal preference with our burgers — better than french fries. King Chicken, Washington NCSweet tea… ahhh, the nectar of the gods.

Pecan pies, individual size. Sweet potato pies…
